Inside the workshop
Western Woodworkers has a working club workshop with benches,
machinery, timber storage, dust extraction and room for members to
work on their own projects.

Workshop equipment
These photographs show some of the machinery available. The workshop also includes the equipment listed on the homepage and the detailed Tools and Equipment page.

Compound mitre saw
Used for controlled crosscuts and angled cuts where appropriate for the project.

Wood lathes
Available for turned bowls, vessels, spindles and other shaped pieces after certification.

Disc sander
Sanding equipment helps members refine edges, shapes and surfaces during project work.

Belt and disc sander
A combination sanding machine for shaping and smoothing timber components.

Dust extraction
Dust collectors and extraction hoses form part of the workshop safety setup.

Benches and shared workspaces
Members bring their own materials and use the shared space to work on their projects.
See the workshop on a club day
A first visit lets you inspect the equipment, watch members working and ask whether the club suits the projects you want to make. Visitors cannot do woodworking during that first visit.
