Your First Visit to Western Woodworkers
A first visit to Western Woodworkers is deliberately low pressure. You can come along, meet some members, inspect the workshop, watch the session and ask questions before deciding whether the club is right for you.

The workshop is generally open from 9:00am to 2:00pm on the second and third Saturday of each month at Rear/1167 South Rd, St Marys SA 5042. If you are making a special trip, check the club days and first visits page or contact Western Woodworkers first.
What happens when you visit
On your first visit, you can look around the workshop, see the tools and machinery, and talk with members about the kinds of projects they work on. You might see wood turning, box making, furniture work, repairs, carving, sanding, finishing or other timber projects in progress.
For insurance reasons, visitors cannot do woodworking during that first visit. That does not make the visit less useful. Watching a normal club day is often the best way to understand the culture, the equipment and the kind of support available.
What to bring
For a first visit, bring yourself and any questions you have. If you already have a project in mind, you can talk it through with members and ask what materials, PPE or consumables you may need once you join.
After joining, members bring the materials for their own projects. Members are also encouraged to bring their own PPE and consumables where possible, although some are available at the club.
After the visit
If the club feels like the right fit, the next step is membership. Read Membership Enquiry for fees, eligibility, what to bring and machinery certification.
